Goal of the Activity

The goal of the ESN on the Job Market project is to support the competence development and employability of youth volunteers within ESN Poland. Through a comprehensive approach that includes partnerships with institutional, commercial, and NGO stakeholders, the project aims to provide volunteers with the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary to navigate the job market effectively. By empowering youth volunteers to take ownership of their career development and pursue meaningful pathways in the job market, the project contributes to the mission and goals of ESN Poland while fostering positive societal change. Ultimately, the goal is to equip volunteers with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to succeed professionally and make meaningful contributions to their communities and society at large.

Description

The project "ESN on the Job Market" is an initiative by ESN Poland, a student NGO comprising over a thousand volunteers across 13 Polish cities. This project aims to bolster the competence development and employability of young volunteers within ESN Poland. It operates under the coordination of a dedicated coordinator within the HR committee of ESN Poland.

Over the past several months, the project has undertaken various initiatives to achieve its objectives:

  1. Internal Research: Conducted by the Research and Development team, this initiative aimed to gain insights into the professional career paths chosen by ESN alumni and volunteers.
  2. LinkedIn Campaign: Led by the HR committee, this campaign provided tips and tricks on using LinkedIn effectively for professional networking and career advancement.
  3. Internal Newsletter: The project disseminated newsletters addressing topics such as bridging the gap between ESN experiences and the professional world, connecting previous ESN experience with specific skills, and providing practical materials for entering the job market.
  4. Job Offer Group: An internal group facilitated the sharing of professional job offers between current volunteers and alumni working in various professional environments.
  5. Webinar with Alumni: In summer, a webinar was organized featuring alumni of ESN who are professionals in the field of HR, providing insights and advice on career development.
  6. Discussion Panel: Held during the elective national assembly in May 2023, alumni shared their experiences in ESN, the competencies gained during volunteering, and their professional career trajectories.
  7. Partnerships with Talent Days: ESN Poland initiated a professional collaboration with Talent Days, a company specializing in matching young individuals seeking to start their professional careers with potential employers.

Through these initiatives, "ESN on the Job Market" aims to empower youth volunteers by providing them with the necessary tools, networking opportunities, and guidance to succeed in the job market. It bridges the gap between ESN experiences and professional development, fostering a culture of competence-building and career advancement among its members.
