- Help international students dealing with quarantine and COVID-19;
- Show the international students that we are still present and supporting them during this worldwide pandemic;
- Promote and recgnize the skills our international students have;
- Promote the engagement in portuguese language courses.
We organized an online contest, in which the international students would send us edited videos of themselves showing their personal talents (e.g. playing piano, singing, dancing, etc.). We posted on our instagram all the videos we received and then our international followers voted for their favorite talent. At end of the contest, the winner received a portuguese language online course as a prize. We organized this prize together with our partner Genius Hour, a language school.
This event was definitely a great idea! We were afraid our students wouldn't want to participate in the contest, but it turned out to be a must-do for the future. The prize was also an amazing promotion to both our partner and the learning of portuguese language. We will most certainly repeat this event in the future.
