Raising awareness of the importance of terrain management in the prevention of wildfires.
Description
International students and ESNers worked together with Vouzela's city hall and tourism office in the removal of invasive tree species and the planting of native ones. At night, a documentary about climate change was watched. The international students also got to know the city of Vouzela, thanks to a tour given by people from the tourism office.
Result of the activity
The international students learned about the wildfires that occurred in Portugal in 2017, as well as ways of preventing them from reoccurring, some of which they have put into practice during this activity.
