The event belongs to Social Inclusion Cause and was organized to share awareness of blind community. It was also part of the Social Inclusion Days.
We met in front of the building and then all together we went to the Teiresiás centre where we had a lecture about what they do and also a discussion so we could ask a lot of questions. This took about an hour.
After that we went to the ESN Office, we gave the participants scarfs to blindfold them and then took them one by one to the room (where we prepared everything beforehand). The whole dinner was led by one of our members that has experience with blind people so she was explaining what to do when you meet a blind person and answering questions. The students tried to peel a potato, guess coins and eat while not seeing anything. And in the end we had a discussion about how they felt and they were asking more questions about communication with blind people, etc.
Those two events used to be organized separately, but (especially the Teiresiás visit) had a problem with very low number of people attending the events, so we have decided to connect them and I think it was a very good idea. The group was big enough to fit everywhere and also to have a personal approach, especially during the dinner, because they need a guidance while they're blindfolded.
