The goal of the activity was to provide a semi-professional photography service, for free, to our exchange students, volunteers, and local students taking part in ESN activities - together with the possibility of chatting about professional experiences and career development, during the get-together time around the event and the service itself.
Thanks in particular to the idea of one of our volunteers, we saw in our students lots of people that are building their future, and doing an exchange can be an experience as educational as challenging. Therefore, an event like ours gave the possibility to receive pictures semi-professionally shoot and set (even in the post-stage, using some graphic software). It also it gave the chance to enhance the dialogue, the discussion, and the chatting about career development and first professional experiences, between students and young professionals present at the event, during the get-together time around the photo-shooting in itself.
Moreover, the service held by one of our volunteers, with professional experience in the field of Graphic Design and not only, was completely for free, and carried out with quality instruments like led-lights, background panels, appropriate photo-machine, etc.
This makes a difference and is important, since very often this kind of services are very expensive, especially for students, who with this initiative could have the chance of feeling included and getting fair opportunities in the competition of the job market - as it should always be for students.
The event was organized with time-slots, and every student could book a slot of 15 minutes where multiple pictures, with different angles were taken. To any single participant was asking the permission about the treatment of private data and pictures to be modified and sent to them via email.
The attendees were 16, plus around 3 team members to take care of the organization of the event, which was held on a Sunday in one of the local university rooms.
To this event will follow others with a similar concepts: introducing exchange student to the world of career development at entry levels, putting at their disposal the experiences shared by some volunteers who already passed through that stage of life.
