The primary objective of this endeavor was to extend assistance to individuals significantly impacted by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake and to cultivate a sense of solidarity during these challenging times. Our focus went beyond mere support; we aimed to underscore the importance of unity and community strength in the face of adversity. This initiative was driven by the shared purpose of alleviating the burdens faced by those affected, exemplifying the resilience that emerges when communities band together with empathy and support.
As ESN Existanbul, we extended our helping hand to the earthquake victims in Kahramanmaraş by providing blankets, hats, socks, sanitary pads, and other essential items. Understanding the urgent need for warmth and comfort, we mobilized our resources to gather and distribute these supplies to those affected by the earthquake. Through our collective efforts, we aimed to alleviate some of the hardships faced by the survivors and offer them a sense of solace during this challenging time. It was an opportunity for both our members and Erasmus students to demonstrate solidarity and empathy, reinforcing the belief in the power of community support in times of crisis.
We took the initiative of starting a fundraiser which also led to ESN Türkiye starting one. We managed to raise 6,500 euros which we used to buy the essential items we donated to the victims of the earthquake.
