Showing the most relevant sites of Pisa to the incoming Erasmus
The city tour is conceived like a walk through the historical center of Pisa. The main historical and artistic sites of Pisa are shown to the Erasmus and are described. Around 30 Erasmus and 10 ESNers take part to the event.
15.00 Meeting point at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. First stop is the famous fresco “Tuttomondo” by Keith Haring, the biggest and most important wall painting in Pisa. Then we move towards the river Arno and the spectacular Chiesa della Spina (XIVth century). The longest part of the tour is devoted to Piazza dei Miracoli and focused on the main monuments of this site: the “Battistero”, the Cathedral, the Tower and the “Camposanto”. After taking a photo all together, we move to Piazza dei Cavalieri and to the scenic buildings of the Scuola Normale Superiore and the church of “Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri”. Our walk continues through the lively streets of Borgo Stretto, and ends in Piazza Garibaldi around 17.30.
The incoming Erasmus got to know the mains historical sites of Pisa and got familiar with the city center.
