City Tour Lucca

The city tour is conceived like a walk through the historical center of Lucca, with stops in different sites, where we give to the Erasmus some information about the historical and cultural heritage of the city. Around 50 Erasmus and 10 ESNers take part to the event.

Meeting point at 9.45 at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Pisa. We move to Lucca by train. The city tour includes the following stops:

- Baluardo di San Colombano, one of the main entrances in the historical center of Lucca

- A short walk on the city walls, with a stop in correspondence of the Orto Botanico

- Torre Guinigi. Here the Erasmus can go on the top of the tower in small groups (max 10 people)

- Piazza dell’Anfiteatro

- Chiesa di San Frediano

- Chiesa di San Michele in Foro

- Piazza Napoleone. Here we stop for a lunch-break. Erasmus are free to have their own lunch in the many restaurants and bars in this area

- Chiesa di San Martino (Duomo)

- The city tour ends in front of the Duomo around 15.30. The Erasmus have free time: some of them come back by train to Pisa with the staff, others spend more time in Lucca and go back to Pisa on their own.
