Objective / Goal of the activity

The aim of the campaign was to get to the target by spreading out how ESN impacts on society and on the people that volunteer in the association. A bunch of volunteers participated in the video and explained how and why they joined ESN and what they have got and feel during their experience. Apart from that, they also explain what ESN gives to society and how they can improve their professional skills within the association.

Description

The campaign aims to foster social engagement of young people and students, a key component of our Cause of Education and Youth. By promoting volunteering, we wanted to show the importance of volunteering to create active citizens who contribute to their communities. We also wanted to highlight the importance of the non-formal and informal learning which ESN volunteers acquire during their volunteering period. Through initiatives like this, we are contributing to the Cause of Skills and employability, since we show to both employer and society at large in a fun and dynamic way all the useful skills gained by volunteers.

Result of the activity

Volunteers got crazy with the video. Plenty of people from ESN Spain and many other countries shared it in their personal profiles. Even some countries shared it in their Facebook Page, and Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.

Local sections used it to explain to international students what is ESN in order to get closer to them. Some of them played the video during the last Welcome Weeks in front of the Local Erasmus+ Agencies and in front of all the Incoming Students…

Apart from that, it also impacted society by giving a clear idea of why ESNers usually get crazy with this association. Families, partners, and friends got and idea and understood why are we volunteering and why we spend so much time on this.

Without any doubt, it had a really strong impact on the different target groups, even in institutions, that took part in the video shooting and also shared the content in their social media channels.
