We organised this activity in order to provide the newly-arrived international students with the opportunity to meet other international students who were also just arriving in Coimbra, or had been there already. The goal was to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding between different nationalities and cultures in an informal setting, where students talk about anything they wanted.
The goal of the activity was to welcome all new ESN members and include members from previous Erasmus years with a fun and light-hearted quiz and to ensure they feel part of the Erasmus experience despite studying from home for semester 1. The students had a chance to meet each other over zoom and meet the committee.

The MUSICA SENZA ETICHETTA project aims to promote the cultural and artistic growth of enterprising young people of all nationalities with the aim of becoming more and more rooted in the city and in the social and cultural context of the region. The project includes, as the main part, a musical contest that rewards the best unreleased song of the participants; the prize is the recording of the song and the recording of a video clip of the same. Alongside the music contest, a city bike tour was added with various cultural stops along the way to reconcile the importance of sustainable mobility with culture. The social part was also important with the collection of food to donate to the most needy of the city, a way to raise awareness of the theme of solidarity.
The main objectives of the training were to create a basic knowledge of the broad topic concerning cultural heritage, to stimulate curiosity about it through an interactive webinar and to give a hint to the other sections in order for them to be able to perform similar webinars. Another aim is to provide the tools to understand how differences can foster intercultural dialogue by means of concrete examples taken from existing European realities. The webinar’s focus was cultural diversity as an asset as well as a resource for personal and social development. It also offered practical techniques that can be implemented in international contexts to foster interaction between different cultures without generating misunderstandings, but rather by fostering dialogue and adaptation.
