In an era of evolving societal challenges, World Scouting (BES) and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) are working together to empower young people, foster intercultural dialogue, and promote active citizenship across Europe. While Scouting focuses on peace education and community engagement, ESN encourages young people to participate in societal activities during their international experiences, advocating for European citizenship and cross-cultural understanding. Together, they create spaces where young people can raise their voices and drive positive change, even in the face of challenges to individual liberties.
This collaboration aims to strengthen the capacity of both organizations and their members to respond to evolving social needs. The partnership ensures a lasting and relevant impact on youth organisations across Europe by equipping young volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support underrepresented communities and vulnerable groups. It also focuses on the long-term sustainability of youth-led social initiatives, particularly in the areas of social integration and crisis preparedness. Strong national and local partnerships provide essential structures for young people to navigate and address emerging societal challenges.
At the heart of this initiative is the commitment to fostering inclusiveness and social cohesion. By removing barriers to participation and engaging young people as peer supporters and change agents, the project seeks to create more diverse and welcoming communities. Through their combined efforts, BES and ESN are reinforcing the power of youth-led action, ensuring that young people across Europe have the tools and opportunities to build a more inclusive, resilient, and engaged society.
