Objective / Goal of the activity

Teach the students some basics of First Aid including CPR and using the AED machine.

Description

We contacted a professor at Tallinn Healthcare College. She together with some of her students helped to arrange a workshop for about 20 other students.
As there was limited capacity at the college, the number of attendees was limited. The professor and her students arranged for dummies (normally used for teaching students about CPR) for this workshop. The students of the college as well as the teacher were present throughout the event showing us how to give CPR and giving us tips on what to take care of during this process (it’s really not as easy as it seems in the movies 😅)

Result of the activity

This was one of the best workshops we had received in a very long time. A lot of the information was brand new for all the students. We learned that listening to “DU Hast” by Rammstein can be very beneficial if we want to get in the rhythm of giving CPR. The beats in the song and our pumping speed should be in sync. We also received a demo on using the AED machine and what to do in case of bleeding injuries.
