Description of the event:
This Project by ESN Santander is named ‘World without borders’. Its aim is to break the stereotypes that a group of children from a poor neighborhood in Dublin, so that they can learn about the culture of different countries as told by exchange students.
The project has several sessions split into two days. On the first day, an exchange student from ESN Santander makes a small video explaining the culture of his native country and asks the children a question about Ireland. When the video reaches the children and they see it, they write in a folder the answer that the exchange student has made about, in this first session, Romania, and each one of them writes a question about the culture and the country of the student.
On the second day, the head teacher in Dublin sends the questions that the children want to ask the exchange student, and he sends them back a video answering those questions.
In this first session we were joined by a person from Romania, which has managed to break many Romanian stereotypes that the children previously had about the gypsy ethnicity, and has as awaken in them an interest in the castle of Dracula
