The destination of this day-trip was the enchanting Wachau, the UNESCO World Heritage site with green hills with wine and blooming apricot trees. The day was filled with cultural activities. The first stop was at the Melk abbey with its ancient library and unique baroque architecture. Lunch took place in a typical "Heurigen", a wine garden offering local ham, cheese and self-produced wine. Afterwards, to digest the lunch, we went for a stroll through the romantic city of Dürnstein on the river Danube. Finally, as last stop we visited the city of Krems and its city center.
