Description of the event:
On that Friday 07/12/2018 ESN Ioannina and the Student Group of Volunteer Blood Donation (Φ.Ο.Ε.Α.) organized a volunteering blood donation for the Erasmus community at the Φ.Ο.Ε.Α. Office. Only 10 minutes of our time are enough to save somebody else's life!
All of the vollunteers are getting informed one week before each blood donation day about what they should do or not before and after that. Also surely everyone could help by providing juices, water to the vollunteers or make company to them,if someone couldn't donate blood because of any reasosns.
Additionally, the donated blood would be transfused anonymously to any patient in need (concerning surgeries or other serious diseases such as leukemia and anemia), without payment or need to exchange it with equal quantity of blood by the receiver. And the volunteers didn't have to do medical examination before the donation. Their donated blood would be examined at the hospital afterwards.

How did they contribute to the event:
They managed to make an agreenment with the University's Hospital to be the one that will do the process of blood donation with doctors who were speaking english(we mention that because it's very difficult in provincial cities to find doctors who are speaking foreign languages). Also the blood donation took place to the team's office which is properly formed and sterilized, comfortable and warm.
Additional Comments / Outcome of the activity:
The members of the group that helped us were so nice as the doctors who were trying to make the atmosphere more like home. The only but not least international student that came she told us about her situation about the blood donations back to her country and how bad it is.Seeing how much effort is being made she started thinking about how she could make things better back home when she will return.
