What is sitsit?

Sitsit is a traditional and beloved academic dinner party, taken by students from neighbouring Swedes. The main goal is to gather in a formal, festive manner, sit, talk, and what’s most important: sing and drink! During the event, we will provide you with songbooks and instructions on how to make a toast according to local customs.

There will be a group of Song Masters helping you get a bit braver and join your voices in joyful singing. The ticket includes a light three-course meal and of course drinks.

Keep in mind that the venue may get quite warm, so consider this when selecting your clothing!

The sitsit will begin with a cocktail party at 18:00 before we move to the tables at 18:30 for the official dinner party. You can arrive at any time during the cocktail party, but please make sure you are not late to the dinner party. Doors will close at 18:30. However, if you are late, please inform the organizers in advance! Sitsit will end around 22:30.

In the event, we follow HYY's principles of a safer space

There will be a safety person present at the event. If you experience any inappropriate behaviour during our event, please seek assistance from the safety person!

If you have any questions, or you need more information about accessibility, please get in touch with us at [email protected]
