The primary goal of the marathon was to raise awareness and funds for children with neurological problems, offering them better access to care, therapies, and resources that can improve their quality of life. By involving Erasmus students and local volunteers in a meaningful and active initiative, we aimed to cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility, solidarity, and community engagement. At the same time, the event promoted physical well-being and highlighted the power of collective action in supporting vulnerable members of our society.
The fundraising marathon served as a meaningful way to combine physical activity with a powerful social cause—providing essential support to children with neurological conditions. By promoting both fitness and philanthropy, the event offered participants the opportunity to contribute to a brighter and more hopeful future for these disadvantaged children, helping to fund therapies, treatments, and much-needed resources.
Held in the scenic setting of Tineretului Park, the marathon featured a 5-kilometer route that looped around the lake, creating a welcoming and picturesque environment for runners of all ages and fitness levels. Whether participants were seasoned athletes or first-time runners, the event was designed to be inclusive, encouraging everyone to get involved and make a difference through movement.
Before the run began and after crossing the finish line, participants were invited to gather around the start/finish area, where they could relax, connect with others, and enjoy a selection of healthy snacks and refreshing drinks. Carefully chosen to suit a sportive occasion, these refreshments supported the participants’ energy and recovery, reinforcing the event’s commitment to both well-being and community spirit.
Beyond raising funds, the marathon created a sense of unity among Erasmus students, volunteers, and the wider local community, all coming together for a common goal—supporting vulnerable children and spreading awareness about their needs in a compassionate and active way.
