participants
The main goal of the initiative was to bring awareness to local university’s students about the value of mobility for their overall employability, both as an experience and as a source of development for soft skills.
More concretely, the objectives were to promote international opportunities for working abroad under the Erasmus+ program, counter the perception that a period abroad is inaccessible of only possible for a restricted group of people, and showcase ESN Lisboa – and ESN in general – as an important source for information and support for mobility opportunities.
With Employability fairs, ESN Lisboa strives to participate in university and student union’s employability fairs through a stand, where our volunteers engage with local students and share their knowledge about mobility. The goal is to bring awareness about the impact of international mobility on employability, showcasing how experiences abroad contribute to the development of soft skills and overall chances of employment. Additionally, we provide concrete information about opportunities to work or intern abroad, with a focus on the ones offered through the Erasmus+ program.
Outcomes
Our primary goal was achieved, since new information was given to the students attending these fairs. This helped increase awareness of the impact of international mobility on employability and of job and internship opportunities abroad.
Students were receptive and interested in but lacked knowledge of the subject. Through interactions with ESN Volunteers and our resources, students gained new perspectives on their professional lives and on what’s available to them.
