The International Dinner was organized to bring together students from different countries and create a space for cultural exchange. Through sharing traditional dishes from their home countries, participants had the opportunity to learn more about different cultures, traditions, and cuisines. The main goal of the event was to encourage interaction, strengthen intercultural understanding, and help students build friendships in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
All participants were encouraged to bring a specialty from their home country, either a very common dish or something they personally considered the most delicious. Among the dishes, two Turkish girls prepared traditional Turkish coffee and kısır, while a student from the Czech Republic baked a delicious poppy seed cake. A participant from Germany made a stew with sausage and cabbage.
As hosts, we also prepared several Polish dishes, including dumplings, barszcz czerwony (traditional beetroot soup), Polish salad, and many more. Everyone had the chance to taste different dishes, ask about ingredients, spices, recipes, and learn more about popular foods in each cuisine.
At the end of the meeting, we planned to choose a winner for the best dish, but since all the food was amazing, it was impossible to decide. In the end, everyone received a “best chef” statue, and we all had a really great time together.
