The main goal of the activity is to promote environmental awareness by encouraging participants to apply the principles of Reduce, Repair, Reuse, and Recycle in their daily lives. Through interactive learning, hands-on workshops, and community engagement, the event aims to increase knowledge about proper waste sorting, highlight the importance of reducing waste production, and inspire people—locals, students, and visitors—to adopt more sustainable habits. The activity also seeks to strengthen collaboration between citizens, educational institutions, and environmental organizations within the city of Ferrara
The event consists of a morning dedicated to sustainability and circular practices, featuring educational games, practical workshops, and community action. After a welcome and institutional greetings, participants join interactive stations where they can learn how to sort household waste, take part in reuse workshops for both children and adults, and test their environmental knowledge through quizzes run by local associations. The activity continues with a moment of social interaction over refreshments, followed by a collective litter-collection session in collaboration with Plastic Free and Difesa Ambientale Estense. The event is open to all, including international visitors, and offers an engaging way to learn about waste reduction while contributing to the well-being of the city.
