When we decided to organize a visit to the Baths of Diocletian, our goal was to introduce Erasmus students to one of the most significant archaeological complexes of ancient Rome.
We wanted to offer an experience that combined history, architecture, and archaeology, showing how this place represents a meeting point between the daily life of the Romans, urban transformations, and heritage conservation.
During the visit, we guided the group through the monumental rooms of the baths, illustrating the original structure, the functions of the spaces, and the subsequent transformations of the complex.
We explored the cloisters, observed artifacts, and recounted the role that the baths played in Roman society.
The students participated with curiosity, appreciating the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of ancient Rome in such an imposing and evocative place.
Outcomes
Since it was an evening visit, there were very few other people.
