The goal of the Erasmus Village was to increase interest in international mobility among students of our university by promoting the Erasmus+ programme and showcasing the opportunities it offers. Through interactive country stands led by Erasmus students, the event aimed to introduce different cultures, traditions and educational systems, enabling local students to meet international peers and gain first-hand information about studying abroad.
Another important objective was to support intercultural dialogue and social integration between local and international students and to present ESN SUA as an active student organization providing support to incoming and outgoing Erasmus students.
During the Erasmus Village event, visitors had the opportunity to explore country stands and engage with international students. Upon arrival, each participant received a stamp card, which they could complete by collecting stamps at each stand. This interactive format encouraged participants to actively take part in the event, communicate with Erasmus students and discover different cultures. In total, there were 10 international stands represented by Erasmus students from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Poland, Greece, Egypt, France, Turkey, Mexico and India.
In addition to the international stands, several Slovak student organisations and university groups took part in the event, including the folklore ensemble Zobor, the hunting club PK Buteo and Pasteur. Other participating stakeholders included the International Relations Office, INVEST, and of course ESN SUA, which provided information about Erasmus+ mobility opportunities and support for incoming and outgoing students.
After completing the stamp card, participants received a small gift provided by the university as a reward for their active participation. The stage programme included the official opening of Erasmus Village, a presentation of ESN SUA activities, and various cultural performances by Erasmus students, such as singing, playing musical instruments and traditional dances representing their home countries.
