Goal of the Activity

The aim of this activity was to raise awareness about what it means to live with a disability, and in this specific case blindness.

Description

The participants were divided in 2 groups of 7 people each to join an experience that teaches another way of "seeing" introducing you to the world of living in total blindness. We met on November 22nd at the Institute for Blind People in Milan for "Dialogue in the Dark" experience, an exhibition/journey of one hour guided by a blind person who explained through different dark rooms how his/her dialy life is.  In particular we moved from a living room where we had to recognize everyday objects using only our sense of touch, to a busy street full of noises where we touched parked cars, and then to a room where we simulated a boat trip. The tour ended in a bar (still in the dark), where we were offered a drink of our choice among soft drinks, beer, wine, or coffee.
