Showcase the nature of the Dutch Wadden-islands to the international students.
ESN Utrecht's Culture Committee organised a weekend trip to Ameland, one of the islands at the north of the Netherlands. Upon arrival after a bus and boat ride, the attendees cycled to the house, enjoyed a shared dinner, ice breaker games and a nightly beach walk. Day two was filled with a (optional) morning running club, a bike ride through the dunes, climbing the lighthouse, mudflat hiking, a collective barbecue and a party to round it off. One of the highlights of this action-packed day was the mudflat hiking, which sees participants walk across the seabed at low tide and learning about the islands' natural phenomena under the guidance of a marine biologist who showed us around. The final day was dedicated to checking out of the house we rented out and left room for free time for those who had seen something they wanted to (re)visit for a longer time. Afterwards, the boat and bus brought us back home to Utrecht.
