Having o coffee on a chilly autumn day while talking about our cultural traditions.
The evening started with each of us excitedly sharing our captivating stories about our unique cultural traditions. One of the voulunteers started with a fascinating and heartfelt account of the history behind aşure. Aşure, also known as "Noah's Pudding," is a traditional Turkish dessert made with a mix of grains, dried fruits, and nuts. It’s often prepared in large quantities and shared with neighbors and loved ones, symbolizing sharing and community. Pictures were also shown to make it more immersive.
So did every participant start to share their own stories. As one of them coming from Spain, they shared a memorable and lively event. One of participants who's from Poland introduced everyone to a Polish game that was simply played with a coin.
Once everyone shared their stories the Polish coin game that just was learned was played.
The evening was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and a sense of curiosity as we dove deeper into each other's cultures.
