Spain
participants
The main objectives that were successfully achieved were: to show another side of Madrid, a place far from the tourist areas in the centre. To discover how other cultures celebrate their festivities in Spain.
Due to Chinese New Year and the cultural diversity of our Erasmus students, we took a short tour of Usera, Madrid's Chinatown, where various workshops and parades are held to celebrate their New Year. We saw a photo exhibition showing the country's culture and then went to a Chinese restaurant to try typical food that makes this small neighbourhood a welcoming place for its residents.
Outcomes
Madrid is home to many cultures, which makes it truly special. Due to the diversity of Erasmus students we have, we believe it is important not only to showcase Spanish culture, but also all the cultures that coexist here, showing our Erasmus students that in this great city they will not only find a place where their culture is respected, but they will also be able to explore many others.
