Raising awareness of local and international students on the issue of food waste and promoting active solidarity by supporting circular economy and social inclusion initiatives.
On 30 April 2025, at the Comincenter of the University of Basilicata, ESN Sui Generis Basilicata organised a Solidarity Aperitif in collaboration with Magazzini Sociali, a project of the IoPotentino association.
The initiative invited all participants to contribute by bringing a long-shelf-life food item, destined for the solidarity activities of the association, which is committed to combating food waste and supporting the most fragile segments of the population.
The event opened with a talk presenting IoPotentino's activities and the Magazzini Sociali project, with a focus on the good practices adopted in the recovery and redistribution of food surpluses.
Afterwards, participants shared a convivial aperitif, also tasting Birra 166, a special beer made with ingredients recovered from food waste, a concrete symbol of a possible circular economy.
The activity fostered the active participation of the Erasmus students, encouraging discussion on social and environmental issues, while strengthening the link with the territory.
